Missions - Philippines

This year GOSPELVISION Ministries is organizing a new missions project in the Philippines. Bobby and Vickie Williams are the new directors.

As the economy in the Philippines becomes more inflated, the poor in these communities are being deeply affected. Parents cannot afford to fully provide for their children in terms of food, clothing, housing, medical and education.

The upper and middle class people live in the more developed cities. The lower classes live in extremely poor neighborhoods. Many of these poor neighborhoods get little, if any, help from mainline mission projects.

We are already establishing and supporting churches and setting up to train ministers to meet the spiritual needs in the area.

A library is being set up in a local school where there is virtually no books at all. We need Bibles, text books and general library books of all kinds. finances are needed to help ship the books to the Philippines.

GOSPELVISION Ministries is planning to establish a relief center in Butuan, Mindanao in the very near future to help meet the physical needs of the people.

Current Plans for 2007:

  • Develop a financial support system for local pastors.
  • Provide Bibles and training tools for pastors and their congregations.
  • Set up, organize and equip five new church congregations.
  • Send books and supplies to build libraries in local schools.
  • Provide computers and training for pastors, schools and community leaders.
  • Set up a Leadership Development Training Program for pastors and Christian community leaders.
  • Set up a volunteer community work project.
  • Provide school supplies, household supplies and personal hygiene products on an ongoing basis.

Work in the Philippines that Bobby and Vickie are currently involved in includes:

  • Support for Fercy B. Jomboy to attend college. She will earn a BSN degree (Bachelor of Science Nursing).
A BSN degree will give Fercy the opportunity to work in hospitals in the Philippines or other countries such as the United States.
  • Sent Jay B. Jomboy to high school and college to become a Caregiver. Now he works at a hospital while he waits to be sent to another country such as Japan or Singapore.
  • Financial support for Pastor Honorio LLagas who pastors Mount Zion Christian Church.
  • Financed the remodeling of Mount Zion Christian Church.
  • Sent several musical instruments to the Philippines.

Rev. Bobby and Vickie Williams
Directors of Missions Philippines
Although Bobby and Vickie Williams grew up in countries on separate sides of the globe, there are a lot of similarities in their lives. For instance they both were raised on small farms.
Vickie comes form the Philippines and Bobby from eastern Kentucky, USA. Neither grew up in a Christian home. Vickie is the oldest of 6 children and Bobby is the oldest of 10 children.
Through experience, both have a passion for hurting people and that’s how they got involved in organizing and operating GOSPELVISION Philippines Ministries.
Bobby and Vickie met in Northern Kentucky in 2004, married in 2005, and now they are the new directors of GOSPELVISION Philippines Ministries mission program.

Bobby Williams poses with the school principal and several students of the Libertad Central Elementary School in Butuan, Mindanao. GVM is currently setting up and supplying a library at this school.
